Is It Treatable?
When caught early (Stage I), survival rates can be above 60%. Quitting smoking at any age reduces your risk significantly.
Warning Signs
- ●Persistent cough or change in chronic cough
- ●Coughing up blood
- ●Chest pain that worsens with breathing
- ●Unexplained weight loss and fatigue
- ●Shortness of breath
Risk Factors
- ●Smoking (primary cause)
- ●Second-hand smoke exposure
- ●Occupational exposure to asbestos, radon
- ●Family history
- ●Air pollution
Screening & Detection
Low-dose CT scan recommended for high-risk individuals (heavy smokers over age 50).
Treatment Options
Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.
