Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Sri Lanka, accounting for 27% of all new cancer cases. Annually, approximately 15 new cases are detected daily. While primarily affecting women, men can also develop breast cancer at a ratio of about 1:100.
Oral / Mouth Cancer
Oral cancer is particularly common in Sri Lanka due to betel chewing, tobacco use, and alcohol consumption. It affects the lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, and throat.
Colorectal Cancer
Colorectal cancer is the 3rd most common cancer in Sri Lanka and globally. It affects the colon or rectum and is highly treatable when detected early through screening.
Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide. In Sri Lanka, smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke are the primary risk factors.

Cervical cancer is largely preventable through HPV vaccination and regular screening. In Sri Lanka, the NCCP runs screening programmes through colposcopy centres nationwide.
